Chanteau Garrett was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Chanteau attended Sam Houston State University and studied fashion merchandising with a minor in dance. In 2007, Chanteau graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors of Arts in fashion merchandising. Chanteau never stops educating herself and pushing herself to the next level because she started to understand how education and experience go hand and hand. Those ambitions lead her to chase a dream of obtaining a higher level of education and in 2013 Chanteau successfully completed a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
After her undergraduate graduation Chanteau quickly jumped into profession as a manager in retail, which led her to her role as a stylist. As a working mom and stylist Chanteau took on the role as creative director for “Teen Chic” magazine.
Chanteau continued to nurture her and fulfill her passion for fashion, which gave her the opportunity to be an assistant stylist for Thomisina “Goo Goo” Atkins. Through this experience she was able to work with the award-winning gospel sister duo Erica and Tina Campbell known as “Mary Mary”. Chanteau’s work impressed the sister duo and led her to begin her “celebrity” stylist status by styling Erica Campbell for several occasions. Chanteau continued to network and landed a position at a New York based Management Company Creative Classic Agency as an Image Consultant and Lead Wardrobe Stylist.
Through her hard work and dedication Chanteau has been able to showcase eye for fashion through her celebrity clientele, which include recording artists James Fortune and Zacardi Cortez, television personality and recording artist Jerome Wiggins, recording artist Avhere. Her work has been displayed at The Oscars Awards, the Stellar Gospel Awards, BET network, music product covers, and book publications. Through all her professional experiences and opportunities presented through her career Chanteau never loses herself and always simply remembers to “Just being Tae.”
She believes so many people get sucked into the “celebrity” hype but she continues to be confident in her work and ream humble throughout the process.
